Thuna Matrimony ("Thuna", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Thuna Matrimony mobile application and the website thunamatrimony.in (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
To provide matrimony matchmaking, we collect information you give us and information generated through your use of the Service:
- Profile information: name, gender, date of birth, height, marital status, religion and community, education, profession, family details, partner preferences, and photos.
- Account & contact details: phone number, email address (optional), and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Location: your city/district and, if you allow it, approximate GPS location to show nearby matches.
- Usage & device data: app version, device identifiers, and a push-notification token so we can send you match alerts.
- Payment data: handled by our payment partner. We receive confirmation of a transaction but do not store your card or bank details.
2. How we use your information
- To create and display your profile to other members for matchmaking.
- To suggest and filter matches based on preferences and location.
- To operate subscriptions and unlock premium features such as contact details.
- To send interest, match, and system notifications.
- To verify profiles, prevent fraud and misuse, and keep the community safe.
- To provide customer support and improve the Service.
3. How we share information
Your profile details are shown to other registered members as part of the matchmaking service. Beyond that, we share information only:
- With service providers who host our infrastructure, deliver notifications, or process payments, under confidentiality obligations.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our members and the Service.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Photos & contact details
You control your photo privacy. Protected photos are visible only to members whose interest you have accepted. Contact details (such as phone numbers) are shown only to members with an active premium subscription — profile browsing itself is always free.
5. Data security & retention
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your data. We retain your information while your account is active and delete or anonymise it on request, subject to legal obligations.
6. Your rights & choices
- Access, update, or correct your profile at any time in the app.
- Control photo visibility and notification preferences.
- Request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us.
7. Children
The Service is intended only for individuals of legal marriageable age in India. We do not knowingly allow minors to register.

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app or on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
